Natural Ways To Soothe And Heal Cracked Heels

4 Effective Ways To Smooth Out Cracked

For some reason during the winter months I suffer from cracked heels while my feet are all snuggled up in my socks but with the warm weather now with us I want my feet to grab hold of the fresh air and my heels smooth as a babies bum. As I live so close to the beach I smooth my heels out walking over the Cornish sand and taking a dip in the sea. I have always found sea salt and sand keeps my heels smooth during late spring and summer.

But not all of us are lucky enough to live close to the beach that we can take a lazy long walk across the beach every day.  So I thought I would share with you other ways you can heal your heals naturally.

Coconut oil

  • Before going to bed soak your feet in warm water and rub over your ankles with a pumice stone to loosen any dead cells.
  • Dry your feet and then rub a generous amount of coconut oil into your feet.
  • Pop a pair of 100% cotton socks and wear them all night.
  • For best results do this routine everyday until your heels have healed and then after every time you have a shower rub some coconut oil into your heals to keep them smooth and healthy.

You can also use Almond oil, Grapeseed oil, Olive oil or Sesame oil.

Milk Honey Exfoliate

  • Pour 4 cups of milk and 2 cups of honey into a bowl big enough to soak your feet in. Then soak your feet in this milky, honey mixture for 15/20 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes of your feet soaking, massages your heels gently while they are still in this milky honey mixture and keep massaging your heals for around 10 minutes.
  • After you have soaked your feet for 20 minutes gently rinse your feet in warm water, dry and then pop a pair of 100% cotton socks on.

Natural Exfoliating Scrub

  • Make a paste with 3 tbsp of rice flour, 2 tsp of honey, 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar and few drops of sweet almond oil. (You can use olive oil if you don’t have any almond oil.)
  • Soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes or until your heels start to soften. Then gently dry your feet, rubbing off any dead cells.
  • Take the paste you made and scrub to your heels and rub gently. Massage your heals with this paste for around 10 minutes before washing off with warm water.
  • Do this every other day (or everyday if you would like) until your heels have healed.

Banana, Avocado and Coconut Scrub

  • Mash 1 ripe banana and 1/2 a ripe avocado into a  smooth paste, grate into your paste some coconut flesh and mix well.
  • Soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes or until your heels start to soften. Then gently dry your feet, rubbing off any dead cells.
  • Take this paste and rub it into your cracked heels and leave on for around of 30 minutes. Then wash your feet with water and pat it dry completely.
  • Do this every other day (or everyday if you would like) until your heels have healed.
